Two decades of engineering knowledge lived across shared drives and personal laptops — drawings, specs, incident reports, tender responses. Experienced engineers were the search engine, and onboarding was painful. Client contracts forbade any of that data from leaving the customer's site.
02Approach

Built the underlying document platform — ingestion pipeline, per-project access controls and a browsable archive over drawings, specs and reports.

Deployed entirely inside the customer's own data centre — no external inference, no data leaving the site.

Added grounded search on top, with every answer citing the source document so engineers open the page rather than trust the model blindly.

Ran an evaluation with the customer's engineers to measure accuracy, coverage and citation quality before rollout.
03Outcome
Engineers now find the right drawing, spec or precedent in seconds instead of hunting through folders. The platform runs entirely on the customer's servers — zero data ever leaves the site — and access is scoped per project so nothing crosses client boundaries.
